Fritz Meat & Processing is locally owned by Adam Fritz and Ted Prehn, who purchased the business in October 2023. With a team of 24 dedicated employees, we’ve worked hard to bring custom processing back to our community, giving local farmers and families a trusted, close‑to‑home option once again. Since taking ownership, we’ve focused on strengthening our retail offerings, expanding our wholesale services, and building a shop that reflects the values of the people we serve. As we continue to grow, our mission remains simple: provide quality products, dependable processing, and the kind of friendly service you expect from a small‑town business.
Adam Fritz
Adam Fritz is a co-owner of Fritz Meat and Processing and a Jerseyville native with a master’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Illinois. A hog producer and former collegiate meat judging team member, Adam brings deep technical expertise in meat quality, nutrition, and customer customization. His passion lies in connecting local producers and customers through fresh, locally processed beef and pork.

Ted & Julie Prehn
Ted Prehn is a co-owner of Fritz Meat and Processing and the operator of Turkey Ridge Cattle Company in Jersey County, Illinois. As a first generation cattle producer, Ted is committed to raising animals with care and delivering high-quality beef from farm to plate. His focus on community and local agriculture helped drive the vision to bring dependable, local meat processing back to Jerseyville.
